How to Download All Your Gallery Images

This information only applies to you if you purchased your Website Tonight account after October 26th, 2010. How to Find Your Original Purchase Date.
These instructions will only download the images in your galleries – not the files you’ve added to the Image Library or Upload Files sections. Click here for instructions on how to Download All Your Uploaded Images and Files.

After you upload images to your Website Tonight gallery you can download them to your computer. This is a handy feature for lots of reasons. For example, if you loose all the originals in a computer crash you can get them back from Website Tonight. It also makes it easier to get the images and files onto another computer. Sending them by email can be a pain in the neck because of attachment size limits. The best part is that you can download multiple files from Website Tonight at the same time.

How to Download Multiple Images from WebSite Tonight

  1. Log in to your Website Tonight account.
  2. Click Photos and Videos.
  3. Select the gallery that has the images you want to download.
  4. Click Manage Photos.
  5. Put a check mark next to all the images you want to download.
  6. Select Download Photos from the Apply this Action drop-down menu.

The download will be a ZIP file. You will need to “unzip” the download to get to your images. Usually you can do that by simply opening the folder (double click on it), then dragging and dropping the images to somewhere outside of the folder – like your desktop for example. If that doesn’t work then try right clicking on the folder and selecting the “unzip” or “extract” option.

Website Tonight Backups

Having a backup of your website is like wearing a seatbelt when you drive. It might not seem important now, but when things crash it suddenly becomes crucial. If your website is important to you then having a backup should be equally as important. Luckily a backup feature is built into Website Tonight.

  1. Login to Website Tonight.
  2. Make sure the Site tab is selected in the upper left hand corner.
  3. Hover over Manage in the upper left hand corner.
  4. Select Backup/Restore from the dropdown menu.
  5. Create a name for your backup.
  6. Click the Save Web Site button.

Usually backups will only take a couple of minutes. How long your backup takes will depend on the size of your site, how often you backup (fewer changes = faster backup), the speed of your internet connection, whether or not this is your first backup (first backup often takes longer), and how many other users are backing up their websites at that moment.

Now that your backup has been created you should see the name, a time stamp, and a restore option. You can restore it whenever you would like by clicking the up arrow button to the right of the backup.
