Copy and Paste Options:

Copying directly from Microsoft Word (a.k.a. ‘MS Word’, or simply ‘Word’) into your Website Tonight page designer would cause issues prior to this update.  This is because Microsoft Word is not a website builder, so the internet does not know how to read and display MS Word code.  When the internet tried to read and display the code it usually didn’t work right.  This was a frustrating problem for many people because they had written out all of their websites content in Word and were unable to simply copy and paste it into their website builder.  Now you can, but you must do it in the correct way.

Instructions:

  • Use your mouse to highlight all the text in MS Word that you want to copy into your Website Tonight.
  • Click using the button on the right of your mouse (right click).
  • When the small popup appears select Copy.
  • Now navigate to the page in Website Tonight where you want the text to be.
  • Click on the content block you want the text to be in, so that you can type in it (edit mode).
  • Now in the upper left hand corer of your screen click on the paste button.  Looks like this:
  • Select “Paste from MS Word” from the drop down menu (shown in the image above).
  • This will cause a popup window that tells you to paste the code.  Click okay.
  • Now right click (using the button on the right side of your mouse) and select “Paste” from the menu that appears.
  • Click the Paste button.

You’re done.  This safely inserts the text without breaking the code.

Spell Check

Website Tonight has a new and improved spell checker. To use the spell check feature follow these instructions.

  • Click on the content block that you want to check spelling in so that it is in edit mode.
  • Click on the spell check button in the upper left hand corner of your screen.  It looks like this:
  • Directly above the content block you are checking it will now say, “Spell checking mode.  Misspelled words are highlighted in yellow”.  The image above shows an example of how it looks.

You have the option to select from the recommended corrects, ignore the misspelling, manually make the correction, or add the word to your Website Tonight’s dictionary.  After each correction it will automatically move to the next spelling error.  When you are finished making corrections and ready to leave the spell check mode click the button directly above the content block and on the right hand side that says Finish.
