Limitations for Uploading Files in Website Tonight

If you aren’t careful you can exceed your Website Tonight disk space limit, which results in overage fees. Before you upload your files check to make sure that you have enough space. For more info on how to check your disk space usage read, “What are Disk Space and Bandwidth?

Image Upload Limits:

  • Accepted formats: .jpg, .gif, .bmp
  • Image uploads are limited to 10 MB each.

Video Upload Limits:

  • Accepted Formats: .3g2, .3gp, .3gp2, .3gpp, .asf, .asx, .avi, .flv, .m2t, .m2ts, .m2v, .m4v, .mov, .mp4, .mpg, .mpeg, .mts, .rm .vob, .wmv
  • Video uploads are limited to 150 MB each.
  • You can only upload 5 videos at a time.
  • Videos can only be added to public galleries.
  • You cannot add video files to a mobile page.

Music (Audio) Upload Limits:

  • Accepted Formats: .mp3
  • Music uploads are limited to 30 MB each.
  • Limited to 20 saved uploads.
  • Recommended – Limit audio uploads to files with a sample rate of 11.025, 22.050, or 44.1 kHz, and a bit rate of 32, 64, 96, 128, 160, or 196.
  • You cannot add music files to a mobile page.

Flash Upload Limits:

  • Accepted Formats: .swf
  • Flash uploads are limited to 150 MB each.
  • Limited to 1 saved upload.

Miscellaneous Upload Limits:

  • Uploads for file types not described above are limited to 30 MB each.

How to Manage Album Settings in WebSite Tonight

  1. Log into Website Tonight.
  2. Click the Photos and Videos tab (upper left). Now you will see a set of links just below the tabs.
  3. Use the Settings drop-down menu to select Photos and Videos Settings.
    • Site title allows you to rename the Album.
    • Site visibility gives you the option to publish all of your galleries as a standalone website (when checked), or to simply create galleries and decide later where to display them on your website (when not checked).
    • Default Media View let’s you choose the way pictures are displayed (i.e. Thumbnail, Filmstrip, Slideshow, or List tab).
    • Thumbnail View lets you limit the number of thumbnail pictures that show on each page.
    • Gallery View lets you limit the number of galleries your album will show.
    • Photo Downloads allows you to stop people from taking the images from your site by right-clicking and selecting “save”. This is a great feature if you are a photographer and want to protect your work. It’s also good for personal and family pictures.
  4. Click Save
